We continue to share the incredible depth and wealth of Ottawa’s vibrant electronic music community with an exclusive set from one of our top talents, Doga Erbek. Many of you have seen him play live at legendary venues like Mercury Lounge, City at Night, Barrymore’s, Sotto, and at festivals from the 2016 Escapade to the 2021 Black Rabbit!
Residing in Canada's capital, Ottawa, Turkish DJ/Producer Doga Erbek has been a part of the electronic music scene for over 10 years. As the founder/curator of the Bazaar Müzik podcast series, Doga strives to deliver musical journeys for the audience with deep/melodic/middle eastern sounds that represent his background as an artist.
He has also started establishing himself as a producer, with releases on AMITABHA, ThreeRecords (UK) & Faraway Scope (BE) last year, and future releases to be announced very soon.

Our next guest comes from the beautiful city of Resistencia in northern Argentina. Danny Sanchez is an experienced club DJ who also runs Mixing Radio, one of his country’s most consistent online electronic music radios.
Mixing Radio got started in late 2013 as an independent broadcaster with the intent to support local, national and international electronic music artists and producers. Based on the belief that music is a universal language through which to communicate with and unite people across the world, the station has been at the forefront of some of Argentina’s top electronic programming and continues to feature upstart and established artists.
This is an exclusive set for Ottawa Prog Vibes that really captures the essence of Argentina’s progressive sound: it features an expert track selection that builds the story in a very subtle way, has plenty of kick without being overbearing with it, and features a few surprises sprinkled throughout.

For our first episode of 2022 we are proud to present, in what could become an annual tradition, an exclusive set by the current champion of the World Series of Progressive Sets, a global contest organized every year by with Progressive en España. The 2021 contest featured 46 contestants from 11 countries (including Canada).
The 2021 champion was LEX-NDR from Italy. Born in 1979, discovered his passion for electronic music at childhood, and moved to London at a young age to explore its music scene. Working in clubs and enjoying going out to the best parties he started with house music at first, then trance, while clubbing and organizing parties.
After many years spent “studying” the London club scene, he moved to Palma de Mallorca to enjoy a quieter lifestyle. That is where he met Kobah, DJ & producer, who became not just his best friend but also his musical mentor.
This exclusive set is in fact a B2B with Kobah. Born Santiago Ivan Lopez in 1984, Kobah is an Argentine DJ. His interest in electronic music dates back to his adolescence, mainly by listening to progressive and techno music. DJ’ing became his passion in 2004; he started playing in private parties, and then more and more often in bars and clubs all over Argentina.
This set is a pure flow of musical honey, delicious in its melodic discipline, technically flawless, delicate yet very deliberate in its build-up, a real work of progressive elegance. We are grateful to Progressive en España for the partnership in setting this up.

As is the tradition every year, the last episode is devoted to my 10 best of the year. In a typical year, I will listen to about 8,000 tracks and play fewer than 600, less than 10 per cent, in my recorded or live sets. Of those 600, the 10 best are for me the ones that I either particularly liked for a variety of reasons, and/or those that got a huge reaction when played live in a gig. Some are from big names, others from lesser known or up-and-coming producers. What I care most about selecting my music is how it makes me feel and therefore what I think I can transmit to those who listen to me playing. 
Each of my top-10 has its own reason for being there, in some cases I like the buildup, in other cases the melody, in other cases the groove, in other cases how they set the table - they are simply my own faves.
Every year I make a mix with my top 10 and it is a different kind of set - the flow of the mix is fundamentally different since this is not a set that I built the same way - and my mixing style for some of the transitions, as you’ll notice, is also a bit different.

DJ BIO:
Our next instalment of Mellow Prog Vibes is a smooth musical trip by Leonel Godoy, a DJ from Rosario, Argentina. He got interested in mixing electronic music in 2008, heavily influenced by artists like John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha and Guy J. He considers himself a progressive house and deep progressive DJ but is generally drawn to events that value musical quality.
He has played in several bars and venues in his home town and has appeared on various online radios including Dinamica Radio (Argentina), Radio Via Pi.com (Mexico), Radio Metropolitana (Spain), Settumps Radio (Colombia) and Miami Beast Radio (US).
We are very happy to present this solid mellow-prog session from Leonel to vibe to for Christmas – also his first appearance in a Canadian radio show.

Axl Landa is an artist that specializes in a refined musical style that evolves every year. Born in Lima (Peru), his passion for music took hold at an early age and started with a vehement collecting of all kinds of musical pieces. This is what set the foundation for his greatest passion, mixing and production of electronic music.
With the years he continued to polish his tastes and define his musical personality, always with an inclination towards melody and harmony. While he defines himself as a progressive house artist, he wanders across the spectrum of its organic and melodic variations and doesn’t shy away from the blunter sounds of techno.
In 2011 he took his first steps in the renowned DJ College Academy in Peru and earned recognition from Pioneer as he graduated. He embarked in the industry by organizing and promoting events, eventually relocating to Barcelona and delving into production.
His commitment to music led him to collaborate with Progressive en España and to co-found Progressive & Melodic Techno Peru, which promotes the genre and its many sub-genres and produces a podcast that gives space to artists in his country. The podcast also brings the wonders of progressive music from around the world to Peru, and is incubating a new label, Hypnotic Movement.
We are very excited to welcome Axl Landa to Ottawa Prog Vibes, his first Canadian appearance, in which he gifts us a powerful hour of musical storytelling.

We are thrilled to welcome an incredible artist as our next guest, none other than Canadian electronic music producer/performer Robert Mason. 
Robert Mason creates unity within a sphere of listeners. When not in the studio finishing his next track, he’s working on his dance music label, Modern Agenda. Classically trained as a violinist, Robert combines a strong grounding in traditional music theory and composition, coupled with a deep understanding of production and performance technologies.
Robert engages in international collaborations on a regular basis. His productions have brought him all over the world to perform and his comfort behind the decks is as easy to pick out as his ease in performing classical violin. A veritable chameleon of sorts, it seems there is nothing sonically this performer cannot accomplish.
Robert is known to us in Ottawa for some memorable shows, the most recent of which was just this part September (Echoes 2 by Music.Art.Ppl playing with Amber Long). It’s a huge treat to have him gift us this exclusive set.
