Our next guest is a rising young DJ and producer from Brazil’s burgeoning progressive scene, Elusory.
Since he was a child João Pedro Martins has been passionate about electronic music. At the age of 18 he decided to turn it into his profession. After taking DJ courses he moved to Curitiba, where he is currently studying musical production and deepening his knowledge in music.
With a unique musical style and his surprising decorations, João Pedro Martins has established himself in the underground scene. He has also presented his music in several podcasts, including Brazil’s prestigious In Progress, Reset Beats in Costa Rica, and on Quantum Radio (UK) - always with tight harmonic mixes. His signature is a progressive melodic rhythm idealized for his new musical project: Elusory, a project that seeks to describe his strong musical personality in a unique and different way, always with his colorful and attractive style in each performance. Its flavour varies between house / deep house and progressive house.
This is his first Canadian appearance and we are excited to host him on Ottawa Prog Vibes.

Pooyan is an Iranian DJ based in Istanbul, Turkey. In 2011 he got into a diverse array of musical styles, as demonstrated by his music collection. As he used to play video games, he became transfixed with games sound tracks, hence between 2011-2013 he was interested in contemporary classical, electronica and ambient by Jesper Kyd, sumptuous piano-led electronic music by Yoko Shimomura.
His lifestyle created the perfect landscape to push through his musical boundaries. His collection in the 2013-2016 period included progressive rock, alternative rock by Anathema, deep house by Nicolas Jaar and progressive house by Above & Beyond.
Although the Tehran underground party scene was not ineffective, since Pooyan discovered his own musical style, he started DJ’ing and moved to Turkey. He currently works professionally on techno and progressive house. He has become one of the main names in Istanbul for progressive house, performing at a number of venues and playing radio guest mixes on major outlets such as Progressive House Argentina, Metanoia and Under Construction.
This is his first Canadian appearance and we are excited to have him on Ottawa Prog Vibes. His set knocks it out of the ballpark, you will want to listen to this one.

Tumelo “MELO-T” Ponalo can’t imagine a time before music.
For as long as the Zimbabwean-Canadian musician can remember, music has always been there, serving as a driving force of creativity and self-expression. As a young child, MELO-T recalls being intrinsically drawn to the rhythms made by the Marimba, mbira instruments and Ngoma drums, and inspired by the catchy and upbeat tunes heard from pop stars on the radio.
Now living in Ottawa, Canada, MELO-T has all but lost the musical sounds and cadence native to his home country. As an established and highly sought songwriter and producer, under his musical project and label “Music by Melo,” he unleashes his creative birthright and makes music that transcends both demographics and borders. Similarly, as a DJ, known as “MELO-T,” his original mixes regularly serve as the soundtrack to packed venues and vivacious dance floors.
Drawing inspiration from South African DJ Black Coffee and Zimbabwe’s Oliver Mtukudzi and Sango, MELO-T’s music embraces a variety of distinctly unique genres—hip-hop, reggaeton, Latin music, and R&B, to name a few—into one pure and melodic sound known as “Afro Fusion.” Not to be confused with Afro Beats, the increasingly mainstream genre crossing airwaves from Africa, Afro Fusion is a delicate blend few have managed to master. This rare sound is just one of the many reasons why MELO-T remains one of Ottawa’s hottest artists. And his talent hasn’t gone unnoticed; over the years, his originally produced music has earned a spot on the turntables of popular Canadian DJs, including Rise Ashen, Trevor Walker, J Fun, Akpossaul, Ray Ray and DJ Kam.
MELO-T’s unique artistry has also been recognized as a significant contribution to Canada’s cultural landscape. In 2015, as one of two members of Tribal Threat, an Ottawa-based DJ group, he was selected by TD Bank and the Black Artists' Networks in Dialogue (BAND) to perform as part of Then & Now, a national Black History Month series.
Despite such noteworthy accomplishments, MELO-T is showing no signs of slowing down. In 2020, he released several self-produced singles, including Playful Tendencies, Oceans Away and Someone to Love, featuring Namara. His originally produced single Reunify, a collaboration with Rise Ashen, was licensed to international record label Merecumbe Records New York for worldwide distribution, and as well Vanity which was also released on Spins and Needles Records. Currently, MELO-T self released a new track called Locked Down inspired by the new genre emerging from Africa, mainly South Africa called Amapiano a subgenre of house music and followed by his heavily anticipated EP Melodies on September 25th.
As with each of his projects, MELO-T’s upcoming work promises to be an original sound. If history should repeat itself, we’re guaranteed to be listening, with another afro inspired EP called “For The Culture 2”, to follow in July 2021.

SEBB is born and based in Canada. Living the dream in the '90s dj'ing at various clubs, he made a comeback to the musical scene on MixCloud focusing on the deeper sides of house music. Having released more than 60 sessions on MixCloud over 3 years, he realized the producers of the tracks he was using in his sessions weren't getting enough visibility. He founded the After Hour Show in 2021 with the objective of promoting DJs, music producers and record labels around the world.
The After Hour Show podcast is aired on Underground Kollektiv global radio, EIbiza (France) and sebbradio.com every week. Recently he has joined the Keepers Of The Deep (KOTD) and Abyss Sound Experience on Quest London Radio where he produces a monthly show. SEBB is also resident of The Underground Kollektiv.
Progressive house and deep house is what he does best but he likes to explore other styles of music too.

The two have not only been friends for a long time, but have been active together for over twenty years, supplying the music world with their groovy electronic sounds. Joachim is the studio tinkerer and Nicolas is the DJ in the two-man team.
Their musical roots stretch back to the seventies and connect film music with life in the sea, paired with powerful pressure and again and again that certain Blue Cell sound that can be found in their pieces. But they never want to commit themselves to a specific sound. It can be melancholically melodic, sometimes minimal and harder, but their sound is a colourful cocktail of all kinds of music that is played absolutely functionally and worldwide. Our guest DJ this week is one of the rising talents of our city’s bustling electronic music scene and good personal friend, Zak B.
Zak B. got his start on local radio. Since then, he has played at clubs, festivals, venues, and corporate events. His energetic yet laid-back approach allows him to give every genre of dance music his own spin.
He has been one of the most active DJ’s on the scene working every weekend at re-establishing our nightlife to a post-COVID normal. You can see him in action every weekend at Giovanni’s on Preston Street or hosting new Wednesday night parties in the Market at 27 Club, among the many venues and parties at which he plays.
He also currently serves on the board of directors for CKCU-FM. He is an Admin for the largest music discussion group on Facebook, as well as Moderator for the largest DJ discussion group on Facebook; as such Zak is able to analyze current music trends from a unique perspective.
It was high time to host him on Ottawa Prog Vibes and here he is. For his guest mix, he delivers one of his signature dancefloor sessions, oozing with raw energy, skillful mixing, and his very personal flavour of enthralling dark, dirty and groovy tracks which drag you right out to dance.
