This is a very special set, suitably on May the Fourth, as it marks the 5th anniversary of the Ottawa Prog Vibes podcast! In this half-decade, nearly 3,000 individual tracks, dozens of top-notch guests from all over the world, thousands of plays have been a thrill and a ton of fun – so much so that we have never missed a weekend in these five years!

Weird Sounding Dude is a Bangalore-based music producer/DJ. Drawing his influences from the likes of James Holden, Extrawelt, and Nathan Flake. Weird Sounding Dude's trademark chuggy grooves, squelchy rhythms, and winding melodies are sure to satisfy his listeners but there are always a few surprises along the way.
Life is about evolving and as it happens with a lot of artists, only DJ’ing wasn’t enough for Weird Sounding Dude's musical odyssey, so he embarked on a journey to prove his worth as a self-taught music producer. In a very short span of time, Weird Sounding Dude became a regular on the Beatport charts, and his music went on to gain continuous support from some of the top renowned artists such as Tony McGuinness (from Above & Beyond), Above & Beyond, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy Mantzur, Guy J, Nick Muir, Marsh, Armen Miran, Lost Desert, Cid Inc., Roy Rosenfeld, Khen and many more.
Weird Sounding Dude continues to make a mark in the underground circuit by having releases on some of the most prestigious record labels in the dance music industry such as Anjunadeep, Sudbeat, The Soundgarden, Hoomidaas, Souksonic, Kindisch, Everything Will be Okay, Plattenbank, meanwhile, Perspectives Digital, Laika Sounds, Mango Alley, onedotsixtwo, Juicebox Music, Eat My Hat Music, Balkan Connection, 3rd Avenue, Tarnished Tracks, If You Wait Music, Strangers Beats, Strange Town Recordings, Stripped Recordings among many others. Well-known music blogs such as Progressive Astronaut, Change Underground, Release Promo, Underground Tel-Aviv, When We Dip, Nie Wieder Schlafen, Melodic Deep, Bespoke Music, Husa Sounds have shown regular interest in his tracks. Weird Sounding Dude was also nominated for the MyFav Awards for the years 2014-15 and 2015-16. Weird Sounding Dude's 'Hyper Dream' track was picked as track of the year by Above & Beyond's Tony Mcguinness during his interview with Sky News for the year 2021.
Weird Sounding Dude has always enjoyed a place in the underground dance music culture with performances at music festivals such as Anjunadeep Open Air, Vh1 Supersonic, Sunburn, Satellite Beachside, R.E.S.E.T., La Foresta (Sri Lanka), Voodoos Fest (Sri Lanka), Ctrl Alt Dance, Krank, Locals District, Lost & Found Showcase (Goa, India) and played at some of the most celebrated venues across India. Weird Sounding Dude has had the privilege to share the decks with Ben Bohmer, Cristoph, Jody Wisternoff, Guy J, Yotto, Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger, Cubicolor, Nils Hoffmann, Nox Vahn, Mind Against, Braxton, Khen, Enamour, Jerome Isma-Ae, Stan Kolev, Jimpster, Vaal, Dauwd, BOg, to name a few. 2023, is off to a great start for Weird Sounding Dude as he is all set for his first tour of Australia and New Zealand.
Weird Sounding Dude also hosts two radio shows. The first show is called 'sinetone' a monthly curated podcast that airs exclusively on Proton Radio every second Monday of the month. The second show is a very special bi-monthly curated podcast exclusive for Spotify and Apple Music called "Orbis". Karl's musical journey began in the mid-eighties, heavily influenced by synth-pop, leading to his love for electronic music. Then came the nineties & the rise of the rave generation which he embraced fully, acquiring decks & lots of vinyl he started playing at beach parties & oudoor events in his native Cornwall. Sasha, Digweed & Oakenfold quickly became Karl's main source of inspiration & musical style. They still are to this day.
At present, he is actively nurturing his musical brand through the 'Future Existence' series. Dominic's journey into the world of electronic music commenced at a tender age of 16, immersed in the vibrant UK rave scene of the 90s. From clandestine gatherings to illegal events, his fascination with electronic sound deepened, evolving over time through genres like Trance, Garage, and Drum & Bass. However, it was the discovery of the 'Global Underground' compliation series and influential DJs, namely Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, and Nick Warren, that solidified his passion for progressive house.
Amidst the pandemic's constraints, Dominic seized the opportunity to delve into DJing, capitalizing on the surplus of time afforded by lockdowns. Equipped with a DJ controller and a selection of progressive and melodic house tracks, he embarked on a transformative journey.
Recognized within the UK community as the 'ProgMelodic' protagonist, Dominic stands at the intersection where Progressive and Melodic House cross paths and where the lines become blurred. His sets are characterized by a seamless fusion of atmospheric elements, fostering a distinctive sonic identity that captivates listeners with its provocative, uplifting, and emotive allure.
Dominic holds esteemed online residencies with platforms such as Saturo Sounds, Organic Deep House Radio, Subcode, and Underground Kollektive. He regularly plays his 'ProgMelodic' sound across the underground events circuit of London.

Vagner Silveira is an emerging Brazilian producer of progressive and melodic house. Passionate about music since childhood, he began dedicating himself to production at the beginning of 2020, demonstrating his musical sensitivity through striking melodies that give uniqueness to his productions.
In February 2023 he had his first production released on the album DIVERS Vol. 2, on the LAKE UNDERGROUND MUSIC label. The track Solaris (Original Mix) received positive reviews from important artists in the underground electronic scene such as Alec Araújo, Blanka Barbara and Ricky Ryan.
Currently he is the host of the podcast “House Waves” on the Saturo Sounds Rádio Show, on the 4th Saturday of each month, at 5pm UK. And he is preparing an EP with 4 new tracks on the Saturo Sounds label for the beginning of 2024.
